Remote | Employment & Labor Legal Review Consultant — $80–$130/hour
Job Description:
We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for employment and labor attorneys experienced in workplace disputes, investigations, EEOC matters, wage and hour analysis, severance and non-compete drafting, NLRB matters, employment policies, and structured legal reasoning evaluation.
This role supports current and upcoming remote consulting opportunities focused on workplace legal scenario design, employment and labor law analysis, attorney-quality reference response drafting, legal output evaluation, rubric-based review, and high-quality project execution. Selected professionals will apply their employment or labor law experience to design realistic workplace scenarios, evaluate AI-generated legal responses, and provide structured feedback based on established legal and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
Professionals in this role may contribute to:
Workplace Legal Scenario Design
- Design realistic workplace scenarios drawn from employment or labor law practice
- Create tasks involving EEOC charge responses, severance agreements, non-compete drafting, harassment investigations, wage and hour analyses, NLRB matters, employment policies, or handbook issues
- Develop legal prompts and scenario materials that reflect real-world workplace disputes, investigations, and compliance workflows
- Ensure scenarios are clear, realistic, legally grounded, and appropriate for structured evaluation
Attorney-Level Reference Responses & Legal Review
- Write attorney-quality reference responses for employment and labor law tasks
- Evaluate AI-generated responses against legal accuracy, practical judgment, issue spotting, and professional standards
- Review outputs involving workplace investigations, employee policies, wage and hour analysis, severance matters, NLRB proceedings, or collective bargaining issues
- Identify gaps in legal reasoning, incomplete analysis, weak drafting, unsupported conclusions, or impractical recommendations
Rubric-Based Evaluation & Feedback
- Grade legal responses against structured rubrics and project-specific evaluation criteria
- Provide clear written feedback explaining response strengths, weaknesses, and legal reasoning issues
- Participate in onboarding and specialty calibration sessions to align review standards
- Maintain accuracy, consistency, and professional judgment across submitted legal evaluation work
Ideal Profile
Strong candidates may have:
- 1–4 years of professional experience in employment or labor law at a law firm, in-house legal department, government agency, labor organization, or comparable legal environment
- Experience as an employment defense attorney, plaintiff-side employment attorney, in-house labor counsel, EEO investigator, senior associate, or related practitioner
- J.D., LL.B., LL.M., or equivalent legal education from an accredited law school
- U.S. law license, active or inactive, or comparable legal qualification relevant to project scope
- Strong experience with one or more of the following: EEOC charge responses, wage and hour analysis, severance and non-compete drafting, harassment investigations, employee handbook drafting, NLRB proceedings, or collective bargaining
- Excellent written communication skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a remote, project-based environment
Educational Background
- J.D., LL.B., LL.M., or equivalent legal education may be relevant depending on jurisdiction and project scope
- Professional experience in employment law, labor law, workplace investigations, employee relations, wage and hour matters, or workplace compliance is highly relevant
- Experience in law firm practice, in-house counsel work, government agency work, or structured legal review may also be valuable
Nice to Have
- Class action or wage and hour collective action experience
- Workplace investigation certification such as AWI-CH or comparable training
- Multi-state employment compliance experience
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms, investigation tools, case management systems, or workplace compliance workflows
- Experience with NLRB matters, collective bargaining, labor relations, or employee policy review
- Availability for at least 15 hours per week, with higher availability preferred depending on project scope
