Remote | Government & Public Administration Consultant — $70–$110/hour
Job Description:
We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for government and public administration professionals experienced in reviewing public-sector documents, policy materials, agency reports, program plans, public finance materials, spreadsheets, slide decks, and presentation-ready government artifacts for accuracy, rigor, clarity, and domain quality.
This role supports current and upcoming remote consulting opportunities focused on government artifact review, public administration evaluation, rubric-based assessment, document and spreadsheet review, slide deck quality review, structured feedback, and high-quality project execution. Selected professionals will evaluate AI-generated work products and apply subject-matter expertise to identify factual, policy, analytical, aesthetic, and presentation issues.
Key Responsibilities
Professionals in this role may contribute to:
Government & Public Administration Artifact Review
- Evaluate AI-generated documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks involving government, public administration, public policy, agency reporting, public finance, program planning, and civic service delivery
- Review public-sector materials for accuracy, completeness, rigor, clarity, and practical relevance
- Assess whether materials are aligned with public goals, stakeholder needs, legal/regulatory context, budget constraints, and measurable outcomes
- Identify unsupported claims, unclear policy logic, incomplete analysis, weak recommendations, or poor linkage between public needs and proposed actions
Public Sector Program & Policy Evaluation
- Review materials involving policy memos, agency reports, budget summaries, grant materials, stakeholder updates, performance dashboards, implementation plans, and public-facing communication
- Assess whether government and public administration materials are realistic, well-structured, and useful for public-sector or stakeholder audiences
- Evaluate spreadsheets, program summaries, performance reports, public finance materials, and executive-facing recommendations for rigor and usability
- Provide clear written feedback that improves government and public administration artifact quality
Spreadsheet, Document & Presentation Quality Review
- Review spreadsheets for structure, logic, calculations, formatting, usability, and consistency
- Assess slide decks for organization, visual clarity, executive readability, and presentation quality
- Identify factual, aesthetic, formatting, and presentation errors across Microsoft Office and Google Workspace files
- Apply consistent review standards across documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks
Ideal Profile
Strong candidates may have:
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience in government, public administration, public policy, public-sector consulting, agency reporting, public finance, grant management, civic program management, stakeholder engagement, or related fields
- Native or professional fluency in English
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Strong experience with Google Slides, PowerPoint, Excel, Google Sheets, Word, and Google Docs
- Ability to evaluate documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks with strong attention to detail
- Excellent written communication skills and ability to provide structured feedback
- Ability to work independently in a remote, project-based environment
Educational Background
- Academic backgrounds in public administration, public policy, political science, economics, public finance, urban planning, law, international relations, social policy, or related fields may be relevant
- Advanced degree from a reputable institution may be valuable
- Professional training in public administration, policy analysis, public finance, grant management, procurement, civic engagement, or program evaluation may also be relevant depending on project scope
Nice to Have
- Master's degree, MPA, MPP, JD, MBA, or comparable public-sector-related credential
- Experience creating or reviewing policy memos, agency reports, public finance materials, grant reports, procurement materials, stakeholder decks, performance dashboards, or public-facing summaries
- Familiarity with public budgeting, procurement, grants, policy analysis, stakeholder communication, public-sector performance metrics, compliance reporting, and civic service delivery
- Experience reviewing presentation decks for clarity, polish, and public-sector communication quality
- Strong ability to evaluate both public administration substance and visual/presentation quality
