Job Description:

We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced Mathematics Experts with strong expertise in advanced mathematics, mathematical proof writing, research methodology, rigorous problem-solving, and technical analysis to contribute to an advanced AI training and mathematical-reasoning project.

Selected professionals will author and review advanced mathematical problems, solutions, and proofs, evaluate mathematical content for accuracy and rigor, and contribute research-level explanations and justifications used to improve next-generation AI systems. The opportunity is fully remote and suitable for qualified professionals worldwide. No prior experience in AI is required.

Key Responsibilities

Advanced Mathematical Problem Authoring

  • Author challenging mathematical problems across calculus and higher mathematics
  • Develop rigorous solutions with clearly justified reasoning
  • Create problems that test conceptual understanding as well as technical execution
  • Ensure assumptions, notation, and constraints are clearly defined
  • Maintain a high standard of mathematical precision throughout task development

Proof Writing & Verification

  • Develop formal mathematical proofs
  • Review proofs for logical validity, completeness, and clarity
  • Identify unsupported steps, hidden assumptions, or reasoning gaps
  • Refine arguments to improve rigor and readability
  • Apply appropriate proof techniques across advanced mathematical topics

Mathematical Content Evaluation

  • Review mathematical problems, solutions, and explanations for accuracy
  • Evaluate technical content intended for AI training datasets
  • Identify computational, conceptual, or logical errors
  • Assess whether mathematical reasoning adequately supports final conclusions
  • Provide structured feedback on areas requiring correction or improvement

Research-Level Analysis

  • Produce technical analyses and mathematical justifications
  • Apply research methodology to mathematical problem development and verification
  • Evaluate alternative methods and solution approaches
  • Distinguish elegant, efficient reasoning from unnecessarily complex methods
  • Maintain standards appropriate for advanced academic or applied mathematical work

Mathematical Problem-Solving

  • Solve complex problems across advanced mathematical domains
  • Apply critical thinking to unfamiliar or non-routine mathematical scenarios
  • Analyse mathematical structures, assumptions, and dependencies
  • Develop clear reasoning paths from problem statement to conclusion
  • Validate solutions through independent checks where appropriate

Technical Communication & Collaboration

  • Explain complex mathematical concepts clearly in written and verbal formats
  • Adapt explanations for audiences with different levels of technical expertise
  • Document reasoning, notation, and assumptions precisely
  • Collaborate remotely with project teams and other technical contributors
  • Provide domain expertise supporting iterative improvements to mathematical evaluation workflows

Ideal Profile

  • BSc, MSc, or PhD in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field
  • Advanced understanding of calculus and higher mathematics
  • Strong mathematical proof-writing skills
  • Exceptional mathematical problem-solving and critical-thinking ability
  • Experience producing research papers, proofs, or technical analyses in academic or applied settings
  • Strong background in research methodology
  • Ability to evaluate mathematical reasoning for rigor, accuracy, and completeness
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain sophisticated mathematical concepts clearly
  • Experience developing mathematical content or advanced technical problems is highly valuable
  • Experience contributing to collaborative research or international projects is advantageous
  • No prior AI-training or model-evaluation experience is required

Engagement Details

  • Independent contractor engagement
  • Fully remote and open worldwide
  • Compensation: $80–$90/hour
  • Work will involve mathematical problem authoring, proof writing, technical analysis, solution review, and AI-output evaluation
  • Strong mathematical rigor and advanced problem-solving ability are central to this engagement
  • Assignments may span calculus and other higher-mathematics domains
  • Project scope, workload, mathematical topics, and evaluation standards may evolve depending on project requirements
  • Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party
