Remote | Specialty Legal Review Consultant — $80–$130/hour
Job Description:
We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced specialist lawyers in real estate, tax, bankruptcy/restructuring, and trusts & estates, with expertise in legal scenario design, attorney-quality reference response drafting, structured review, and specialty legal reasoning evaluation.
This role supports current and upcoming remote consulting opportunities focused on specialty legal scenario design, attorney-level legal analysis, realistic workflow simulation, rubric-based evaluation, and high-quality project execution. Selected professionals will apply their legal practice experience to design realistic specialty scenarios, evaluate AI-generated legal responses, and provide structured feedback based on established legal and professional standards.

Specialty Legal Scenario Design
- Design realistic legal scenarios drawn from real estate, tax, bankruptcy/restructuring, trusts and estates, or related specialty practice areas
- Create tasks involving real estate purchases and leasing, M&A tax structuring, Chapter 11 matters, estate planning, trust formation, or specialty workflows
- Develop scenario materials that reflect real-world legal practice, practitioner judgment, and high-stakes legal analysis
- Ensure scenarios are clear, realistic, technically accurate, and appropriate for structured evaluation
Attorney-Level Reference Responses & Legal Review
- Write attorney-quality reference responses for specialty legal tasks
- Evaluate AI-generated responses against legal accuracy, practical judgment, issue spotting, and professional standards
- Review outputs involving real estate agreements, tax analysis, restructuring workflows, estate planning, trust administration, or related specialty materials
- Identify gaps in legal reasoning, incomplete analysis, weak drafting, unsupported conclusions, or commercially impractical recommendations
Rubric-Based Evaluation & Feedback
- Grade legal responses against structured rubrics and project-specific evaluation criteria
- Provide clear written feedback explaining response strengths, weaknesses, and legal reasoning issues
- Participate in onboarding and specialty calibration sessions to align review standards
- Maintain accuracy, consistency, and professional judgment across submitted legal evaluation work
Ideal Profile
Strong candidates may have:
- 3+ years of professional experience in real estate, tax, bankruptcy/restructuring, trusts and estates, or a related specialty legal practice
- Experience as an in-house specialist, partner, senior associate, former government attorney, agency attorney, or comparable legal practitioner
- J.D., LL.B., LL.M., or equivalent legal education from an accredited law school
- Active, inactive, or comparable legal qualification relevant to the applicable jurisdiction and project scope
- Excellent written communication skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a remote, project-based environment
Relevant Specialty Experience May Include:
- Real Estate: commercial leasing, residential and commercial purchase agreements, title opinions, UCC liens, 1031 exchanges, zoning, or real estate development workflows
- Tax: M&A tax structuring, IRS controversy, SALT nexus analysis, transfer pricing, 501(c)(3) applications, 280G, partnership or LLC tax allocations
- Bankruptcy / Restructuring: Chapter 11 petitions, DIP financing, 363 asset sales, plans of reorganization, automatic stay relief, creditor/debtor workflows
- Trusts & Estates: estate planning, will drafting, trust formation, trust administration, wealth transfer planning, or fiduciary matters
Educational Background
- J.D., LL.B., LL.M., or equivalent legal education may be relevant depending on jurisdiction and project scope
- LL.M. in Tax, Estate Planning, or a specialty legal area may be especially valuable
- Professional experience in real estate, tax, bankruptcy/restructuring, trusts and estates, or specialty legal advisory work is highly relevant
Nice to Have
- Cross-specialty experience across multiple practice areas
- In-house experience at a real estate developer, financial institution, wealth management firm, family office, or comparable organization
- Bankruptcy court experience, trustee work, creditor-side work, debtor-side work, or restructuring advisory experience
- Experience drafting, reviewing, or evaluating specialty legal documents, transaction materials, tax memos, estate planning documents, or restructuring filings
- Availability for at least 15 hours per week, with higher availability preferred depending on project scope
