Selected professionals will apply their listening skills, musical knowledge, production experience, or transcription expertise to assess creative quality, identify audio issues, and produce clear, consistent annotations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess overall quality, instruction adherence, musical composition, arrangement, and production
  • Evaluate vocals, lyric delivery, stylistic consistency, and progression from beginning to end
  • Identify audio artifacts, structural weaknesses, production issues, and inconsistencies
  • Explain evaluation decisions clearly through concise written reasoning

Music Captioning & Technical Description

  • Identify key, tempo, time signature, instrumentation, arrangement, and musical structure
  • Describe harmony, melody, rhythm, dynamics, texture, and production characteristics

  • Maintain consistent annotation standards across different genres and recording styles

Lyric Timing & Audio Alignment

  • Mark accurate start and end timings while accounting for phrasing, repetition, and vocal delivery
  • Review lyric text for synchronization, completeness, and consistency
  • Identify unclear words, overlapping vocals, background parts, and timing ambiguities
  • Apply language-specific listening skills across eligible multilingual projects

Ideal Profile

Strong candidates may have:

  • A discerning ear and the ability to compare musical outputs consistently
  • Strong written communication and the ability to justify subjective judgments clearly
  • Experience as a musician, producer, composer, audio engineer, music educator, critic, or dedicated listener
  • Knowledge of musical structure, arrangement, vocals, and production quality
  • Experience with audio annotation, transcription, subtitling, or karaoke timing where applicable
  • Ability to follow detailed evaluation criteria and maintain consistency across repeated tasks
  • Reliable availability for flexible part-time project work
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment

  • Conservatory training, professional musicianship, studio experience, or equivalent practical expertise is highly relevant
  • Applicants with strong listening ability and demonstrated analytical judgment may also qualify without formal music credentials

  • Strong understanding of music theory, harmony, rhythm, instrumentation, and song structure
  • Familiarity with digital audio workstations and common audio-production workflows
  • Experience reviewing or rating music, audio recordings, or creative media
  • Native or near-native fluency in more than one language
  • Background in subtitle creation, karaoke synchronization, transcription, or audiovisual localization
  • Previous experience with generative audio, AI evaluation, annotation, or structured quality review
